LeGuin Also, for someone who mirror sight book 5 to want her readers to focus on more than Karigan's love life, you sure didn't do much mirror sight book 5 it in this book. You know all everyone's talking about is Karigan's rebound relationship with Cade can I just say, insta-love was the only trope left unused in your novels and you finally got around to it!
Some people may wonder, Ms. Britain, why I am being so vitriolic about a book that is, after all, not badly-written or badly plotted.
But you know, don't you, Ms. Britain, that best friends make the worst enemies?
Also in this series: King Zachary sends Karigan and a contingent of Sacoridians beyond the edges of his nation, into the mysterious Blackveil Forest, which has been tainted with dark magic by a twisted immortal spirit named Mornhavon the Black.
At the end of Blackveil, in a magical confrontation against Mornhavon, Karigan is jolted out of Blackveil Forest and wakes in mirror sight book 5.
Is this to be her end? If she escapes, where will she find herself? Is she still in the world she remembers, or has the magical explosion transported her somewhere completely different?
Soon it is revealed to her that she has been transported nearly years into the future. Karigan no longer recognisable mirror sight book 5 city - an industrial revolution is underway, with gas lighting, steam engines, factories belching smoke, cotton mills run on slave labour and curious animatronic law enforcers.
With woman forced to cover their faces and not speak unless instructed, karigan struggles to fit into her role in mirror sight book 5 new society.

One of her Eletian companions, from her mission to Blackveil was also pulled through time, however Mirror sight book 5 is weakened by the lack of magic in the world. He is captured and taken to be presented to the Emperor as Eletians were believed to be extinct having been hunted and killed during the fall of Sacoridia nearly years mirror sight book 5.
Karigan convinces the professor and his assistant Cade Harlow that she is in fact the real Sir Karigan G'ladheon from years in their history. The professor explains that all knowledge of the empires history is restricted, and that the emperor who now rules is merciless, powerful and immortal.
They reveal they are part of the resistance to bring down the empire and restore a monarch to the throne.
They also explain that Arhys, a young girl the professor employs as a maid is the last living descendant of king Zachary and that she is unaware of her royal bloodline.
Finally the professor confesses that Cade is in training to become Arhys bodyguard, a new generation of Weapon. Instead of the handbrake-turn that I thought the author had made, Mirror Sight is simply a lengthier exploration mirror sight book 5 a necessary time-jump.
Karigan has already travelled in time before in this series, but never for this long and never with mirror sight book 5 much on the line.
